Price Lists
Price lists help you maintain multiple pricing tiers without touching the item master every time. Assign default price lists to customers, territories, or sales channels to keep pricing consistent across teams.
Common price list types
Retail, wholesale, distributor, online marketplace, and export pricing.
Set Up a Price List
Create a base price list for each pricing strategy you offer.
Create the Price List
Go to Items > Price Lists > New and enter a name such as “Wholesale FY24”.
Set Currency and Validity
Select the currency and, if needed, define an effective date range for seasonal pricing.
Add Item Rates
Add items to the list with their specific rates. You can import rates in bulk if you have many items.
- Item Code: The product or service.
- Rate: The selling price for this list.
- Minimum Qty: Optional quantity requirement for the rate.
Assign Price Lists
Price lists become effective when they are linked to a customer or sales channel.
Assign to Customers
Open a customer profile and set the Default Price List. This rate will auto-fill in quotations, invoices, and POS sales.
Assign to Sales Channels
Set a default price list for a sales channel or territory to simplify regional pricing management.
Price lists and pricing rules can work together. The price list sets the base rate, while pricing rules add conditional discounts or overrides.
Price List Governance
- Review price lists quarterly to keep margins healthy.
- Deactivate expired lists instead of deleting them to preserve historical reporting.
- Use a naming convention that includes the year and audience.
